Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kathgodam Arrival – Pithoragarh
Upon arriving at Kathgodam, we freshen up and head toward Bhimtal for breakfast. Our journey into the Kumaon hills begins with visits to the soul-stirring Kainchi Dham and the unique Chittai Golu Temple, famous for its thousands of brass bells. We conclude the day with the spiritual aura of Jageshwar Dham before reaching Pithoragarh.
Day 2: Pithoragarh to Dharchula
After breakfast, we drive to Dharchula, a bustling town on the border of India and Nepal. This day is primarily for the vital paperwork required to obtain the Inner Line Permit (ILP). You have the afternoon free to explore the local markets or walk across the suspension bridge into Nepal.
Day 3: Dharchula to Gunji
We start our ascent into the high-altitude region, driving toward the base village of Gunji. The route is spectacular, passing through villages like Chialekh and Garbyang. By evening, we settle into a traditional homestay to begin our acclimatization at 3,200 meters.
Day 4: Gunji to Adi Kailash & Back
We start before sunrise for the journey to Adi Kailash. At Jolingkong, we visit the Adi Kailash temple and perform puja at the pristine Parvati Sarovar. On the return journey, we stop at the ancient Pandava Fort and witness the towering Parvati Mukut.
Day 5: Gunji to Om Parvat & Back
Today, we head toward Nabidhang for the darshan of the divine Om Parvat. Witness the ॐ symbol etched in snow on the peak. We also visit the Kali Mandir at Kalapani, the origin of the Kali River, and see the Ved Vyas Gufa where the sage meditated.
Day 6: Gunji to Didihat/Chaukori
We begin our descent back to lower altitudes. After returning to Dharchula for lunch, we drive toward the scenic hill stations of Didihat or Chaukori, known for their panoramic views of the Panchachuli peaks.
Day 7: Didihat to Bhimtal via Patal Bhuvaneshwar
After breakfast, we visit the incredible Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave temple. This limestone cave is a labyrinth of stalactites and stalagmites that represent various deities. Later, we drive to the serene lakeside town of Bhimtal for our final night in the hills.
Day 8: Bhimtal to Delhi via Kathgodam
Our Himalayan odyssey concludes with a short drive to Kathgodam. From here, we transfer you to the railway station or bus stand for your return journey to Delhi, arriving early the next morning with memories of a lifetime.
