Detailed Itinerary
Rishikesh to Joshimath / Govindghat
Early morning pick-up from Rishikesh (around 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM). Scenic 253 km drive (9–10 hours) via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. Evening arrival and hotel check-in at Joshimath or Govindghat.
Joshimath to Pulna Village – Trek to Ghangaria
Short drive to Pulna Village (the motorable end). 9 km trek along a well-defined trail and waterfalls to Ghangaria (base camp). Overnight stay in a lodge or guesthouse in Ghangaria.
Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and Back
Morning entry into the Valley of Flowers National Park. Explore 4–5 km inside the vibrant alpine meadows, viewing rare blooms like the Blue Poppy and Brahma Kamal. Trek back down to Ghangaria for the night.
Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and Back (Optional / Extension)
Steep 6 km uphill trek to the high-altitude glacial Hemkund Lake and Gurudwara. Return descent to Ghangaria by afternoon.
Ghangaria to Pulna Village – Drive to Joshimath
Trek back down 9 km to Pulna Village. Pick up by cab or traveler and drive back to Joshimath for an overnight stay.
Joshimath back to Rishikesh
Check out and complete the return road journey (253 km) back to Rishikesh by evening.
